A wedding held at Vigna Chinet, a beautiful villa on the hillside with a breathtaking view of the city and the Mole Antonelliana, the symbol of Turin, was the ideal location for this happy newlywed couple.
Their wedding day was late summer, with a clear sky and a mild temperature. The bride and groom were stunning and radiant, dressed in sober, yet elegant outfits. Taking advantage of the beautiful natural scenery, the newly-weds posed in front of the villa, among the vineyards, on the hills and in front of the city lit up by the light of sunset.
Live saxophone music made the atmosphere cheerful and engaging.
Wedding at Vigna Chinet in Turin
The earliest information regarding Vigna Chinet dates back to a perspective drawing of the Turin hillside in 1690, indicating the Turin vineyards, sketched by Simone Formento. From the remaining documents and witnesses, it is clear that the Chinet, belonging to the Pellizzaro family of the House of Savoy, aimed to make it a vineyard boasting a convenient access and well-kept gardens. In the early 1800s, it became the residence of the Avogadro di Quaregna family, a member of whom was the scientist Amedeo (1776 – 1857) and the Promis family. Domenico Promis became its owner in 1844, leaving it in his will to his son Vincenzo, who stayed at the vineyard during his summer holidays until 1890. He was then succeeded by his mother and his sister, who stayed there until after 1910 when the vineyard was sold to the family of its current owners.
