A wedding held at Villa Sommi Picenardi is a unique experience. Set in a Lombard countryside residence dating back to 1703, surrounded by an impressive age-old park boasting two gardens, an Italian-style one and another English-style. This is an exceptional venue for an elegant, refined wedding reception, just like the one desired by Nicola and Laura. Live music with the band created a lively, engaging atmosphere, blending modern tunes with timeless classics. The highlight of the celebration was the firework display that lit up the night sky with a thousand colours and sparks. Both the newly-weds and the guests were captivated by the show, which beautifully brought an unforgettable day to a close.

Wedding at Villa Sommi Picenardi

The history of this venue began in the late 17th century when the Sala family decided to build their country residence in the Alta Brianza (Upper Brianza) area. There already existed a watchtower and a building to which the Villa was annexed. Despite countless searches, no evidence has been found of the garden designs or the name of the architect who built the house in the Lombard Baroque style. This garden provides an example of a terraced layout, with a perspective direction of ramps and stairs in the middle proportioned to a landscape of small, green hills that conceal the secret garden at the back of the Villa. It is the building that dominates here, and the garden is designed as scenery to be admired through the large hall windows. Although the design and the coloured mosaic decoration of the staircase are of Roman inspiration, the details of the garden already reveal the elegance of the period. Another wing of the Villa is bordered by the theatre garden, a corner dedicated to the art of topiary and adorned with hornbeam backdrops that emphasise the perspective as in a green theatre setting.
